On the September 22, 2010 posting, the editor incorrectly stated that Tenley was aspirating at the Dr. appointment. She was wretching, not aspirating, and there is apparently a pretty big difference between those two words. To anyone in the medical field out there, I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
Mommy and Daddy have since discovered that if you leave Tenley perfectly still for roughly 20 minutes after her feeds, she does not wretch.

Mommy and Pop Pop were off to the GI/Nissen surgery expert yesterday. They got x-ray'd to see if the Nissen's were too tight, too loose, or just right. Both babies were juuuust right. Will wasn't too happy about not getting his morning feed, so he was already cranky. Then they tried to get some dye-stuff down to his esophagus via bottle and he was not having that, so they had to eventually stick a tube down to his esophagus.
The results for Will was that he has good swallowing and good stomach reactions...he just completely forgot how to suck. If he can learn how to suck, then he'd be set for bottle feeds!
Tenley didn't mind her bottle of dye-stuff as much so she didn't need the tube down to her esophagus. While she was eating, she started wretching pretty badly. The Dr. looked internally at her stomach and saw no issues. Although Tenley's stomach, sucking, and swallowing skills are a-OK, it appears she may be afraid of being full. As soon as the Dr. distracted her with a toy, she stopped wretching. Mom and Dad are going to work on distracting her towards the end of her feeds from now on to see if maybe she can get over this "fear".

If you've lost track...the babies were 8 months old 3 days ago. Wow...how time flies!
The little situation on Sunday did not have a positive outcome. Today, Mommy just held Tenley up over some towels and the container so when it was her normal #2 time she just had to catch it in the container. Success!! Good job sis!!
Tomorrow the babies go to their GI doctor and Thursday they go to a G-Tube specialist to see if maybe they can figure out how to ween the kids off the G-Tube feedings and onto bottles.
Both babies gained the minimum amount of weight this week. Tenley weighing in at 11lbs 11 ozs and Will weighing in at 13 lbs 12 ozs.

Tenley is still having issues with asparating after/during feedings and also has diarrhea issues. Mom and Dad are trying to collect stool samples for the Doctor to run some tests however when the #1 and #2 happen simultaneously, its proving difficult just obtaining the stool. Sunday Daddy gets to experiment with bags of some kind...we'll see how that goes. Good luck Bill!!!

Will finally got his EEG results back. When compared to his last EEG, he showed signs of improvement and can now have his Phenobarbotol (medicine for seizures) lowered until, hopefully in five weeks, he can officially be without. This makes mommy very happy.
