Last week, the twins weighed in at 17lbs 12ozs (Will) and 16lbs 11ozs (Tenley). Will ate 3 bites of Pea flavored baby food today! Yummmy! Tenley is on a new "blendarized" type diet for babies with G-Tubes. Basically, she will start out having 1/2 an ounce of water roughly 30 minutes before two of her meals. If that goes well (no retching), then they will up the amount until she can handle 4ozs twice a day. Once she meets that goal, they will start adding blendarized fruits/veggies (all through the G-Tube). If she can handle this, then Mommy can hopefully stop pumping and then they will start the process with Will. It's a long process from start to finish, but anything will be beneficial.

Maryland got roughly 8 inches of snow yesterday which means Mommy has been stuck at work since she left home yesterday morning. Her company put her up in a hotel, however the power went out soon after her check-in and the loud snow plows kept her awake the majority of the night. Worst of all, this is the first time she has gone without seeing her babies for this amount time. She is trying to stay in good spirits. Daddy is thinking of driving to her work today with the twins (if the roads are OK) so she can see them for a little while during lunch. Hang in there, sis!

A few of you have asked where the babies are after 1 year. As far as eating goes, neither of them take bottles/baby food still and they are fed mainly from feeding machines via their stomach tube while sitting in their high chairs to help reduce the chance of having reflux. Will has an extra Physical Therapy session to help him loosen up - he is still pretty stiff due to his high tone (to the point where he doesn't sit up yet on his own) but the extra session has definitely been helping. Tenley gets help on learning how to crawl and how to lay on her belly and they both have eating therapists to help them learn how to eat food. There are more doctor visits scattered within the week, but those are the ones that I mainly remember them telling me about (hah!). The important thing is that both babies are VERY happy and VERY loved as seen in all the pictures posted on this blog.
